When a customer has a need for shade, they call or email to connect with our sales team to discuss their ideas or concepts. Next, they place the order over the phone or request a site visit. Shade ‘n Net’s sales team member will make any suggestions to maximize the customer’s shade based on the expected use of the structure. Whether the shade is to cover playground equipment, parks, pools, outdoor seating areas, covered parking, aircraft, basketball courts or a backyard barbeque, there is a shade structure perfect for that purpose. Every structure is custom-made when ordered which allows for endless variations in size and unique designs. Many color options are also available allowing customers to match their corporate logos, existing color schemes, landscape themes, or simply personal preference. Imagine customizing an order with eye-catching shapes or unique layering, brilliant multi-color netting material to add an air of fun and festivity, choosing subdued colors to add sophistication to your property or adding protective column pads at playgrounds and pool areas to protect children from injury. There are endless options. Once exact measurements and colors have been selected, the design phase begins.
The design team takes the structure measurements and ideas and creates a conceptual drawing together using state-of-the-art CAD systems. The drawings then go to the structural engineers who takes into consideration any challenges such as site location, wind loads, area-specific weather (snow, monsoons, earthquakes, etc), other existing landscaping, underground conflicts such as utilities and bedrock/caliches and proper footing sizes needed to secure the structure. Both teams work to find the most efficient and cost effective shade solution for each unique situation. Shade ‘N Net has several structure approved for use with DSA specified projects in California.
Once engineer drawings are completed, the manufacturing can begin at the Phoenix, Arizona plant. The architectural fabric is precisely cut and sewn by the sewing department. The raw steel is cut into support columns and rafter pieces and then welded together by certified welders. After welding is completed, the structure is sent to powder coating for coating / baking. For structures being installed at water-based areas such as ocean front property or at car washes, the structure is hot-dip galvanized instead of powder coated for maximum corrosion resistance.
After the manufacturing is finished, the individual pieces pass through quality control checks prior to the packaging department wrapping and crating the structure for timely shipment and installation.
Shade ‘N Net has factory-trained installation crews for local jobsites and has a network of registered Distributors and experienced contractors that ensure a quality installation at further distances.
